It is early morning on the crowded metro, the morning rush of near awake workers heading off to their daily routine, some fiddling with their phones, others nodding off still awakening from the night’s sleep. The aroma of fresh coffee and freshly showered passengers wafts through the air as the person next to you is having an all too loud conversation on their phone. You serenely put in your earphones and open the Ripple Effect App on your phone and you learn about the practice of Sun Salutations including the benefits to the mind, body and nervous system, the perfect way to start a new day.
It is a busy day in the popular lunch spot. The throng of lunch-goers and din from the noise of impromptu meetings hovers in the air as you sip the soup of the day, idly passing the time with the mind wandering into the afternoon emails, meetings and phone calls. The Ripple Effect sends you a notification of a new lesson. You open the app to learn about the overall positive and beautiful effects that the practice of Yoga has on the brain, creating new neuropathways from the neo-cortex to the limbic system, reinforcing the beauty of an already amazing process, that of Yoga as skill in action.
You come home from work one day, exhausted and stressed out from too many tasks and too little time to complete them, a common occurrence in today’s hustle and bustle society. You want to make the time to meditate, relax and let go, but it seems elusive. Just as you pour a relaxing beverage, you are notified of a new lesson. As you stretch your legs out on the couch, immediately feeling that relaxing feeling of letting go, you open the app to learn about a Pranayama (breathing) technique that is specifically designed to relax the nervous system and reduce stress and anxiety. You realize that less time is needed to find the release from stress and anxiety than was originally thought.
As the lessons accumulate, you begin to expand the knowledge and beauty of self, growing in awareness, seeing the world from a whole new perspective. The world becomes the lens through which your soul expands, the effulgent light of the sunlight of the spirit shining down on everything in your view.
And then you step on the mat for your Yoga practice; and the accumulation of the Ripple Effect courses through your being, a beckoning of light, hope and eternal peace for all to look upon. You don’t just practice Yoga, you have become Yoga, and not just Yoga, but that one small pebble in the sea of humanity that is the Ripple Effect.

Why are lessons released during the subscription period of one every three days and not more often? Proper time should be taken to learn, absorb and practice the content of each lesson. We cannot properly absorb information if we are quickly and impatiently moving on to the next piece of information. The Ripple Effect App is set up as a practice of Yama and Niyama and care should be taken to review each lesson on multiple occasions as there is so much content available in each lesson beyond the test questions at the end of the lesson.
